Abstract

Aim: The current study evaluate the effect of evidence based management and leadership training program on decision making skills of nurse mangers Design:A quasi experimental design was utilized with pre-posttest measurements taken immediately and after three months of giving the training program. Setting: This study was conducted at selected hospital which affiliated to Cairo University. Sample: A purposive sample of a (No.30) Nurse Managers was recruited in the present study. Tools: Data was collected by Organizational Readiness for Implementing Evidence-Based Management and Leadership Questionnaire; Evidence-Based Management and Leadership Knowledge Test; Evidence-Based Management and Leadership Utilization for Decision Making Observational Checklist; Attitudes toward Evidence-Based Management and Leadership Application Questionnaire; Evidence based decision making Skills Observational Checklist. Results: the findings revealed an improvement in the knowledge mean scores of nurse managers in the immediate posttest and follow-up test scores. Furthermore, statistically significant differences discovered between nurse managers' usage of EBDM in their practice throughout pre, immediate post, and follow up, as they had the highest mean scores immediately post program and after three months relative to program pre implementation; additionally, nurse managers convey a positive attitude and good response toward EBML implementation within an organization.
