Abstract

Introduction: Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is an infrequent liver insult with notorious comorbidities, in which autoimmune-mediated relativities against hepatocytes are thought to play a crucial role.  Aim: to delineate updated demographics of AIH.  Methods: This study was conducted retrospectively. Assessment included demographic, laboratory, radiological, and histopathological characteristics (if feasible). Results: The mean age of the studied cases was 34.63 ± 12.76 years with minimum 19 years and maximum 65 years with female predominance as There were 15 males (26.3%) and 42 females (73.7%). 15.8% of cases had AIH associated DM, 2.2% with autoimmune thyroiditis, and 1.5% with Crohn’s disease. Conclusion: AIH is a prevalent liver disease.
