Abstract

Background: Cardiac arrest is a critical medical emergency marked by sudden cessation of effective cardiac activity leading to loss of consciousness absence of breathing and absence of circulation. It remains a major cause of global mortality despite advances in emergency cardiovascular care. Aim: This study aims to review current evidence based management and interdisciplinary practice for nursing health assistant and social specialist roles in improving outcomes of cardiac arrest. Methods: The methodology is based on a comprehensive narrative synthesis of updated clinical guidelines and evidence from resuscitation science focusing on prehospital care basic life support advanced life support and post resuscitation management. Results: The findings show that early recognition of immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation rapid defibrillation and coordinated multidisciplinary response significantly improve survival rates. However overall survival remains low with many survivors experiencing neurological impairment due to delayed perfusion recovery. Effective outcomes depend on structured emergency systems trained personnel and integration of nursing and allied health roles in continuous care. Conclusion: The conclusion highlights that standardized protocols interdisciplinary collaboration and community education are essential for improving survival and neurological recovery.
