Abstract

This study indicates that there is significant association among post-test nurses’ knowledge with their qualification in nursing (p-value =0.02) and years of employment p-value =0.03. This study shows that nurses’ general knowledge about bariatric surgery and their knowledge about the nursing management of pre and post bariatric surgery were statistically significantly increased in the intervention group post-test (96.6% and 94.8%, respectively), p0.001..A Quasi-experimental design was performed from February to March 2021 at a referral surgical hospital for bariatric surgery in Al-Sulaymaniyah city, with 50 nurses (25 in the control group and 25 in the study group).
