The relationship between history of caesarean deliveries with placenta previa
A meta-analysis
Keywords:
placenta previa, caesarean deliveries, pregnantAbstract
Placenta previa is known as one of the most feared adverse maternal and fetal-neonatal complications in obstetrics. It has been reported that history of caesarean deliveries was associated with increased risks of placenta praevia. This study aimed to investigate the association between alcohol consumption during pregnancy with placenta previa and abruptio placenta. The PubMed databases were systematically reviewed, with the period of articles published between 2000 until 2022. Statistical analysis was carried out by Review Manager 5.3 (RevMan 5.3). The databases search yielded 228 studies and 14 of them matched eligibility criteria. The results of this meta-analysis suggest that. Mothers with history or previous of caesarean delivery had higher risk to develop plasenta previa compared with mothers who had a normal or vaginal deliveries (Pooled OR= 2.08; 95%CI: 1.73–2.51). this result was statistically significant.
